10.17.24 | Lecture: Anima ~ Animus

In Analytical Psychology, there are four functional complexes with associated archetypes at their core. Individuation involves a process of moving into greater awareness of these ever-present patterns of the psyche. On the conscious side, the Persona/Ego configuration dominates, especially in the first half of life; on the unconscious side, Shadow & the Anima/Animus dominate, especially in the second half of life. From the perspective of one’s wholeness, these patterns of psychic energy are all in play, all the time. Jung calls Shadow work the apprentice piece of the individuation process. He calls the work with the Anima/Animus the masterpiece of the individuation process. This lecture will explore what goes into the shaping of the Anima & Animus, why Jung considered working with the Anima/Animus so important, and how critical these archetypes are to one’s everyday functioning and psychological well-being.

Join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking lecture and lively discussion afterward!
