4.18.24 | Lecture: Jung & Eastern Thought

One cannot underestimate the impact on Jung of such Eastern classics as the I Ching or The Secret of the Golden Flower, both texts having inspired forwards by him in their English translations. Generally, Jung looked toward the East to understand a tradition of deep, refined, and sophisticated introversion, sorely undervalued by Western European and derivative North American cultures. He was also very aware that the West had a tendency to poach or appropriate Eastern ideas and practices for its own extraverted goals. Join us as we explore both the impact of Eastern thought on Jung and its enduring influence on Analytical Psychology.
