3-Part Seminar Course | Jung’s 1925 Seminar on Analytical Psychology
About the Course:
Throughout his career, Jung gave extended seminars on special topics. The more well-known of these are The Vision Seminars, The Dream Seminars, The Zarathustra Seminars, and foremost The Seminar on Analytical Psychology held in Zurich in 1925, later referred to as simply The 1925 Seminar. Jung was 50 years old at this time, having emerged from his break with Freud and “the Red Book period,” a liminal time of upheaval and reorientation which planted the seeds for a unique psychological model that would eventually be represented in the 18 volumes of his Collected Works. In The 1925 Seminar, the principles of Analytical Psychology are presented with a refreshing and engaging clarity that makes for both informative and entertaining reading.
The Library plans to offer a series of courses on a number of the seminars listed above, programs categorized broadly as The Jung Seminars. Studying these published accounts of his lectures offers an intimate engagement with Jung as presenter and elucidator interacting with participants and considering the topics of greatest interest to him over the course of his professional development.
