Member Poetry Gathering~ FREE Event
Calling members and poetry lovers!
The Romantics held that the poet was a mediator and messenger of the divine. Jung contended that the same was true of the individual, and more, that it falls to each of us to fulfill this task of mediation and aesthetic expression of our own uniqueness. This he termed individuation, and it can prove difficult at times in the face of an abundance of individual, social, and cultural obstacles. Yet, the poets provide us a fresh and generative current when the waters of daily life tend toward stagnation.
Members, we invite you to join us for a FREE Community Event at Saint Leo, our regular meeting space, on a Saturday morning with a few of your favorite poems, your deepest coffee mug, and a gentle openness to the wonder of words, especially those that find their source in archetypal motifs. Sit back to enjoy hearing others read, or share meaningful poem yourself! Bring a printed copy to submit for the compilation of our first annual Library poetry collection.
As always, there will be a book raffle, and lots of warmth. We plan to bring some snacks too! So please RSVP below by Friday, May 12th.
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
